Dear Mr. Camp:
On July 2, 2001, InterDigital was placed in jeopardy for failure to respond to at least 80% of JTC 1 TAG letter ballots closing in 2nd Calendar Quarter 2001 (April 1 - June 30, 2001). At that time InterDigital was notified that it's voting membership on the JTC 1 TAG would be terminated and adjusted to Observer status if its representative failed to respond to at least 80% of the total letter ballots (not counting accelerated ballots) closing during the 3rd Calendar Quarter 2001 (July 1 - September 30, 2001) - see JT/01-0349.
The details of the JTC 1 TAG Adminstrator's survey of JTC 1 TAG member voting patterns for the 3rd Calendar Quarter 2001 are detailed in JT/01-0473.
I regret to inform you that InterDigital responded to only 72% of the JTC 1 TAG letter ballots closing in 3rd Calendar Quarter 2001 (July 1 - September 30, 2001).
InterDigital's voting membership on the JTC 1 TAG has been terminated and adjusted to Observer membership.
In order to reestablish voting membership on the JTC 1 TAG, InterDigital shall submit a request for the reestablishment of voting membership and attend at least two out of three successive meetings of the JTC 1 TAG. A representative shall attend the first of these meetings as an observer and reaffirm interest in the work of the JTC 1 TAG. Membership becomes effective with attendance at one of the next two successive meeting. Voting privileges begin with the opening of that meeting.
