Action Items from the June 5-6, 1996 JTC 1 TAG 
Meeting


1)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will issue notification to the 
	attendees of the May 1996 SC 21 Plenary and WG meetings of 
	the voluntary facilities fee of $400.00 per delegate and will 
	provide a financial report of the SC 21 Plenary and WG 
	meetings at the June 1996 meeting of the JTC 1 TAG.  (Item 5.2,

2)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will work in conjunction with 
	JTPG to develop a check list of steps (and corresponding time 
	table ) a U.S. SC TAG must follow in requesting approval to host 
	an SC plenary meeting.  (Item 5.3, February 1996 minutes)

3)	Pending receipt of official notification from JTC 1, the JTC 1 TAG 
	Administrator will issue the call for participants on the JTC 1 
	TAG Ad Hoc on the ECMA submission of API for Windows for 
	Fast Track processing in JTC 1.  (Item 10.8, February 1996 
	minutes)

4)	Liaison with the TAG for TC 176  (Item 8.1.2, February 1996 
	minutes)

5)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will issue a letter to the 
	representatives of Northern Telecom, notifying them that 
	Northern Telecom's membership is in jeopardy for failure to 
	attend meetings.  (Item 1.2, June 1996 minutes)

6)	An item under JTC 1 TAG Subgroup Reports will be reflected on 
	future JTC 1 TAG agendas as "JTC 1 TAG Registration Authority 
	Rapporteur", instead of its current heading, "JTC 1 TAG 
	Registration Authority Group."  (Item 4.4, June 1996 minutes)

7)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will issue invoices and 
	explanatory letters to those U.S. and OIW delegates to the SC 21 
	Plenary and WG meetings who attended but did not pay the 
	$400 facilities fee.  (Item 7.1, June 1996 minutes)

8)	Dr. Deutsch, as the U.S. HoD to the SC 21 meetings, will work in 
	consultation with the JTC 1 TAG Administrator on the 
	development of a letter outlining the financial consequences 
	resulting from the failure of several U.S. delegates to attend the 
	May meeting of SC 21 and its WGs.  (Item 7.1, June 1996

9)	The JTC 1 TAG Chairman agreed to explore the role of the JTC 1 
	TAG in the approval of U.S. hosting of SC plenary meetings with 
	JTC 1 TAG officers and other SC TAG Administrators.  (Item

10)	Upon receipt of a formal request to host the 1998 SC 14 
	Plenary and WG meeting from the EPA, the SC 14 TAG 
	Administrator (X3 Secretariat) will request JTC 1 TAG approval

11)	Upon receipt of a letter from the SC 23 TAG Administrator (X3 
	Secretariat) requesting approval for the U.S. to host the 1997 
	SC 23 Plenary and WG 2 meeting, a JTC 1 TAG letter ballot will

12)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will forward JT/96-0262 to the 
	JTC 1 TAG membership.  (Item 7.2.5, June 1996 minutes)

13)	Upon JTC 1 TAG approval for the U.S. hosting of the SC 23 
	Plenary and WG 2 meeting, the JTC 1 TAG Administrator will 
	invoice those X3B11 members listed in JT/96-0262 for the

14)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator was directed to issue a call for 
	volunteers to serve as SC 22 Secretariat.  The call will close on 
	September 1, 1996.  (Item 8.1, June 1996 minutes)

15)	The JTC 1 TAG Chairman directed committee members to 
	forward comments on the draft U.S. contribution outlined in 
	JT/96-0203 to Mr. Oksala (oksala@tr.unisys.com) by July 31, 
	1996, or earlier if possible.  Mr. Oksala will draft a revised U.S. 
	contribution on PAS experiences incorporating the comments 
	received and forward the resulting contribution to the JTC 1

16)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will transmit the draft U.S. 
	contribution on PAS experiences to the JTC 1 TAG membership 
	in the form of a JTC 1 TAG letter ballot seeking approval of

17)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will issue JT/96-0215REV 
	reflecting the changes approved at the June 1996 meeting of 
	the JTC 1 TAG.  The U.S. recommendations on these periodic

18)	The JTC 1 TAG directed its TAG Administrator to circulate 
	JT/96-0249 to consensus standards developing organizations 
	and the JTC 1 TAG membership for comment and potential 
	action at the November meeting of the JTC 1 TAG.  (Item 9.4,

19)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will forward the U.S. delegation 
	list for the  December 10-13, 1996, JTC 1 Plenary in Paris, 
	France to the JTC 1 Secretariat.  (Item 9.5, June 1996 minutes)
	
20)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will forward JT/96-0250 to the 
	X3L8 (U.S. TAG to SC 14) Chairman, requesting input from X3L8 
	on the SC 30 TAG proposal no later than September 30, 1996.  
	This issue will be revisited at the November meeting of the

21)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will forward the U.S. request for 
	P membership on SC 31 to the JTC 1 Secretariat.  (Item 10.1.1,

22)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator was directed to obtain a complete 
	copy of the U.S. contribution to the SC 31 Plenary and circulate

23)	The JTC 1 TAG directed its Chairman to work with ANSI to start 
	a dialogue with the U.S. TAG to ISO TC 122 on the issue of 
	inconsistent U.S. positions to SC 31 and TC 122/WG 4.  (Item

24)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will forward the list of U.S. 
	delegates to the July 30-August 1 meeting of the JTC 1 Ad Hoc 
	on Re-engineering to the JTC 1 Secretariat.  (Item 10.1.2.1, June

25)	The JTC 1 TAG directed its TAG Administrator to forward 
	X3T10's concerns contained in JT/96-0246 to Mr. Sandell in his 
	capacity as the liaison to the TC 100 TAG, with the request that 
	he forward the concerns to the TC 100 TAG.  (Item 10.1.3, June

26)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator is directed to contact SC TAG 
	chairmen and members of the JTC 1 TAG for identification of 
	specific areas of concern with TC 100 TAG overlap, by July 31.

27)	The JTC 1 TAG directed its TAG Administrator to contact the 
	ISSB Secretariat to determine the implications on voting in 
	regard to the MOA if this modified DIS procedure is approved.

28)	In an attempt to ensure that the SC TAGs receive the JTC 1 
	request for input on SC program management, the JTC 1 TAG 
	Administrator was directed to retransmit JT/96-0185 and 
	JTC 1 N 4079 to affected SC TAG Administrators for further 
	dissemination.  The JTC 1 TAG further directed its TAG 
	Administrator to issue a notice on September 20 to those SC 
	TAGs from which we have not received programs of work, 
	reminding them to provide information for review at the

29)	The JTC 1 TAG directed the JTC 1 TAG Administrator to 
	distribute copies of the ANSI AIF N 147 and the POCOSA

30)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator will forward the list of U.S. 
	delegates to the September meeting of the JTC 1 Ad Hoc on IT

31)	The JTC 1 TAG Chairman directed the JTC 1 TAG Administrator 
	to issue the 1997 meeting schedule for JTC 1 and the JTC 1 TAG

32)	The JTC 1 TAG Administrator was directed to post a discussion 
	item to the November JTC 1 TAG agenda related to the 
	responsibilities of individuals volunteering to participate on
